Acknowledging defeat

The smoke is clearing, the noise is beginning to dissipate and you now see the carnage of your day. Things are missing, undone and broken. And it’s not life that has been conquered, its you. As the last light of the day fades in the west, you’re wishing you could fade with it. The day has gotten the best of you. And at this point, there is no comeback, you must acknowledge defeat.

We all have experienced those dark days when everything has gone wrong and you feel like you’ve been put in a fight with your hands tied behind your back. Days like this bring about headaches, gray hairs and doubts. But the good thing about bad days is that they must come to an end. They only have victory for 24 hours and then you get another shot at conquering a new day.

If you find yourself at the end of your PM shift battered, weak and hopeless, don’t let those feelings linger too long. Admit defeat, brush yourself off and get a good night’s sleep, because tomorrow is a new day and it will be seized.
