Background: Driving to work, listening to Mali Music’s “Walk on Water”, and I pass by a sign that says, “I’m very nervous”. Tears flow from my eyes, because what He has whispered in my heart requires that I walk on water, but I’m so very nervous, so much so that I contemplate not doing what he says.
This post is for all my entrepreneurs. This emotional moment was brought on by the overwhelming mandate to do what He says vs what I think is logically the right path. I settled a while ago that he would never ask me to do anything that would harm or put me at a disadvantage. I’m a recovering rule follower, so it takes a major thought process to do things outside of the box. I have to jump hurdles in my mind that at one time in my life would have made me turn around and find another path.
So I look to my P31 role model.
‘She considers a field and buys it; From her profits she plants a vineyard. She makes sure her dealings are profitable; her lamp burns late into the night. She makes linen garments and sells them, And supplies sashes for the merchants.’
She’s a manufacturer, supplier and distributer. She makes sure her money is working for her and serves as her own quality controller. This amazes me. What she’s accomplishing, is where I aim to be. Ultimately what she does in verse 20 (helping those who are poor and in need) is the result I want from my endeavors. What a privilege to be a conduit for helping others. I know that’s what God wants to get out of me, but His way supersedes my mental capacity. And the lesson to be learned from that is this, when things exceed your mental capacity, you must then walk by faith (or in other words, just do what he says. DISCLAIMER: Please ensure that you are well versed in knowing how God speaks to you before walking by faith). And in most cases, choosing to walk in faith has to be our immediate decision because doubt and fear are quick to run to our side and tamper with God’s words to us.
His plans for us are for good and not disaster. I won’t let his whispers to my heart be in vain. His plan doesn’t just involve or benefit me and my family. There are people in need that depend on me to burn the late night oil and be profitable, that the will of God be fulfilled. Consider the field he’s shown you, and acquire it.
