Ok, so you are probably curious how I will weave a blog post out of this. Sit back and be amazed.
The big game. It’s what every team is in the hunt for at the beginning of the season. They practice, they win some games, they lose some games. Some people on the team are lost to injury or fired for underperformance. There are chants and motivational huddles, yelling coaches that demand excellence. And everyone comes back for every practice and every game, simply because they love playing the game (well, professional athletes have to come back, it’s their job).
As a P31, every morning we open our eyes we are stepping on the practice field, in the hunt to excel all other women. And we reach a big game in every season of our lives and you’ll know you’ve won the big game when you are rewarded for the things you have done and you receive praise publicly. Along the way, you may get physical, emotional, or mental injuries, but after sitting out a game or two, you get back out there, bandages and all. You have your motivational songs, inspiring messages and the word of God to keep your head in the game. Your head coach (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) dishes out the plays, giving you the correct routes to take. Your assistant coaches (trusted family and friends) help you to make sure your game is tight. And then there is your opponent. All of the practice, all of the motivation and coaching comes down to this daily matchup. Who will win?
None other than the fearless, hardworking, full of wisdom and strength, intelligent, honorable, sexy, God-fearing P31. Even though you may lose some games during the season, you’ll have enough wins to get to the playoffs, and when you get there, the past is the past, the hunt is for the big game. And when you get to the big game, whether you are beat down, recuperating, or running strong, you will excel. Enjoy your off season with the rewards and praise, because another season will start soon and you’ll have to get your head in the game, because the plays won’t be the same and what motivated you this season may not be adequate for the next season. But always keep the goal in mind and the reward for achieving the goal:
Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. (v29)
a woman [that] feareth the LORD, she shall be praised. (v30b)
Reward her for all she has done. Let her deeds publicly declare her praise.(v31)
